There has never been a time when the strength of a family united with a common purpose is seen, as it was the case of NEWA Family during their Fundraiser towards the construction of Pastor’s House. Elder Jephtha Odhiambo, NEWA Chairperson demonstrated that when someone shows you somewhere to stand, you can move the earth.

In a statement released to members, the Chairperson said,

“My attention has been drawn to the ongoing contribution running on the platform. l do wish to confirm that, Indeed there is ongoing contribution currently taking place within the platform. That the contribution is in aid towards the roofing of Pastor's house in Nyasare SDA Church. That the Church has scheduled for their Harambee to take place on 14/11/20. That the church tried to reach everyone who could be willing to give a helping hand towards the Harambee. That the grandmothers of NEWA happened to be among the guest invited to preside over the Harambee. That N.E.W.A. members, being (people who are) dedicated to church activities which they have since been trained to do so by their grandparents and their parents over time do wish not to be left out. That due to condition five above, some members willfully decided to take part in the activity. That the said activity is opened for every member on generosity terms. That the exercise is expected to end immediately when money is presented to the church on the Harambee time and date. That money contributed shall be presented to the church by their grandmother(s) on behalf of NEWA”.

The chairperson’s message came at a time when members had only raised in 3050 and were running out of time. Fearing a possible failure to raise a substantial amount, the chairperson used his wisdom, stealth, and experience to persuade and convince members to contribute towards the course. His efforts bore fruits when members started sending in their donations in hundreds. Indeed, the Chairperson's inclusive approach that neither discriminated nor profiled members based on their ability to contribute proved to be a catalyst to the course. By 10:30 AM Saturday 14th November 2020, NEWA members’ resolve to raise over 10,500 was unmatched.

With such magnitude of response from members, The Chairperson noted that “In summary; We had no statutory obligation for anybody or any amount towards the contribution. It was purely Generous for whoever was blessed to give.

In a concluding remark, the Chairperson appreciated members for their selflessness and positivity towards the fundraiser. He noted that “To this end, let me take this opportunity to thank every person who was blessed with that little thing towards this great exercise. May Almighty God continue blessing you abundantly. I pray for double blessing to those baskets. I also pray that He may also bless all the willing hearts though could not get Something for today that as he provides to others He doesn’t let them aside. My humble prayer in Jesus' Name”.
