Chairperson's MEMO Regarding two cases of Death within the WELFARE
Greetings!
You
are all aware that currently, we have two cases of deaths within our welfare.
I
wish to clarify as follows;
Our
welfare covers Parents, members, spouses, and children, and saved for only two
grandparents namely Silver and Leonida. Consequently, there is a lacuna in our
Constitution regarding parents-in-law. After short deliberations by the
executive, we have proposed an amendment to help in such circumstances in the future.
In
the case of a parent-in-law, members will be expected to contribute 500/= each.
Nevertheless,
In the future; the amount contributed shall be pegged on the percentage of an
individual's contribution concerning statutory contributions.
Statutory
contribution being those enshrined in our Constitution.
For
instance; a member who contributes to all statutory contributions shall be
legible for 100% of the amount as
specified in the constitution when he/she is befallen. Otherwise, the amount to
be contributed in any of the circumstances shall be calculated on a % depending on his/her prior
contributions.
Members
to take note that George's contribution will be the first statutory
contribution held in this welfare and members are therefore required to channel
their contributions to the treasurer.
N/B;
Upon completion of the contributions 10%
of the total contributions shall be deducted to remain in the welfare account.
In
regards to Faith's grandmother, members are also encouraged to make a generous
contribution for her support which should be sent directly to her phone.
Secretary
and treasurer to coordinate the exercise.
Thank
you all
Chair.
Regards
Elder Jephthah O. Ochanda
